TWILIGHT star CAM GIGANDET is to wed his pregnant girlfriend, according to the actor’s father.

Jay Gigandet tells America’s In Touch Weekly magazine that his son and Dominique Geisendorff will marry after their baby is born in 2009.

The news ends speculation the on-off couple is no longer together.

Gigandet’s father says, “Marriage is definitely in their future. They won’t get married before the baby is born, but Dom will be our daughter-in-law sooner or later. We all love her so much.”

And Gigandet’s dad has hinted his grandchild might be born in Russia.

He adds, “Cam is leaving for Russia… to film Kerosene Cowboys and doesn’t know when he’ll be back. Dom may have to fly to meet him for the birth.”

To give birth in Russia??… ewww … good luck! (poor medical infrastructure, most doctors don’t speak much English, flying pregnant is dangerous and most airlines refuse to accept women who are beyond their 27 weeks of pregnancy, ……..)!

Twilight star Cam Gigandet rocks out a kilt, argyle tights and leather boots as he does a little post-Christmas shopping at Barney’s New York on Monday (December 29) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 26-year-old actor, who was seen pulling out an iPhone from his man purse, reportedly shopped around with his girlfriend, Dominique Geisendorff.

Gigandet’s experience has taught him that real happiness has to come from within.

“The future doesn’t matter if I don’t enjoy what’s going on right now. So I’m just loving what I do and trying to love what happens. So far it’s been good.”

Playing the role of lead tracker and all round bad-guy James is 26 year old actor Cam Gigandet. Having previously starred in both “The O.C.” and the more recent hit “Never Back Down”, Gigandet is no stranger to those bad guy roles but as Movies.ie found, Cam was anything but when we met the actor to discuss the massively successful franchise…

Q: Had you heard of the books before auditioning?
A: I’d actually read “Twilight” while filming “Never Back Down”. My girlfriend gave me her copy and kept saying, “You just have to read it”. It wouldn’t be the usual genre I’d read but I found it so engaging. There was just an air of mystery that surrounded these vampires. Meyer had me hooked! It was about six months after I heard from the studio. It was the same people that produced “Never Back Down” so it seemed kind of… serendipitous!

Q: You were originally cast as Edward’s brother Emmett Cullen but eventually landed the part of James – why were you so eager for another bad guy role??
A: Well from the first time I read the book, I knew I wanted to be James. There was just something about him that I associated with. There is more freedom and fun to be had playing the bad guy – they can get away with so much. Plus – with James – I liked the idea of playing on his immortality – how it can have both a good and bad thing.

Q: The bad side of immortality? ?
Well I certainly wouldn’t want to live forever! If everyone you loved was dying around you, you’d become so jaded and cynical. You’d have no desire or drive in you. If I had to though, I’d want to be the age I am now; still ignorant enough to most problems but I know enough to get by (laughs).

Cam Gigandet, Shane West and Rachael Leigh Cook are in negotiations to star in “Kerosene Cowboys,” an action thriller that Mario Van Peebles will direct for Svarog-Afterburner Films.

Based on a novel by Randy Arrington, the tale follows the rough-riding and hard-living pilots of an elite Navy attack squadron. Gigandet will star as a hot-shot pilot, West plays his one-time best friend-turned-nemesis, while Cook will play an investigative journalist and Gigandet’s love interest.

This week MTV Tr3s caught up with hottie Cam Gigandet and learned why he’s the bad guy you love to hate.

The Washington native is well known for his role as surfer Kevin Volchok in the uber-popular FOX TV series The O.C. He’s also starred in the film Mistaken and recent fighting drama Never Back Down in 2008. However, the most notorious character this 25-year-old has played got us drooling through our sharp, fanged mouths… Cam will play evil vampire “James” in Twilight.

Premiere: Is it fun being bad? Being the villain?
Cam Gigandet: Yeah, you know, I have done it a few times, now. I kind of love it.

“There were a couple moves I did actually have from the movie that they let me incorporate,” revealed Cam Gigandet, adding that if you look closely, you might see some mixed-martial-arts moves in his epic battle with Robert Pattinson. “[I worked in] a lot of things that I do well. But it was so much different from the fights in ‘Never Back Down,’ because [the 'Twilight' vampires] have superhuman strength. So every hit and every throw and everything, really, had to have such a huge effect. [We'd] go flying into the rafters, through windows — having that much wirework made it on a much grander scale than ['Never Back Down'].”

Preview with Bella, James, and Edward

The movie “Twilight,” hitting theaters in December, is already hotly anticipated, given the runaway hit status of the Stephenie Meyer novels from which it’s drawn. Actor Cam Gigandet says fans won’t be disappointed, especially those who are big followers of the books. “It’s a huge movie that has all of these up and coming actors in all of these interesting roles. It’s difficult being that we only have two hours to tell the best story possible within that book, but the movie is as true as it can possibly be,” claims Gigandet, who plays James, the leader of the villainous vampires.

The role comes as a big break for Gigandet, who recently starred in “Never Back Down” and had a popular recurring guest spot on “The O.C.” In fact, he’s already turning heads having recently been honored at EMA’s Home Media Expo as the “Rising Male Star of the Year.”

In the meantime, folks can become more familiar with Gigandet as “Never Back Down” hits DVD and Blu-Ray July 29. It shows the lengths he went to in order to prepare for the intense part. “The bonus features are amazing. It’s wild how they show the fights from the very beginning of how it all started to how it ended,” he notes. “It gives me a sense of pride because when you’re in it and you’re working so hard, you don’t really know what’s happening. We did nine weeks of training prior to filming with some of the best fight choreographers in the world. It was like 105 degrees, and we were doing these fights over and over again for days at a time. Now I get to see how all of this hard work paid off.”
